Hello there, Our first month back in the program has been anything but quiet. Spring showed up in full for nearly a week, we got a car, took an unplanned trip with friends, and my husbands (hamster #3) Schedule changed from night shift to mid shift.

Week 1 we were off to a bit of a rough start with exercises, my husband(Hamster #3) and I followed our diet but missed a day of exercises, my other two did quite a bit of cheating, and struggled with exercises as well.
Nicole and I also did a girls day and I took the chance to TRY and show her how to eat healthier when she’s outside of the house.

We also took our first 3 mile walk through town and explored a little neighborhood mostly new to both of us.

Week 2 was slightly better for my other hamsters on dieting, but exercises still fell short. But, the warm weather set in, and I got in my first outdoor workout of the year.

We took another unplanned trip with friends, and this time I found a way to still get in a work out, taking an hours walk from our hotel to find coffee, and running up and down a set of stairs 15 times on my way back (stairs are not my friend!)

Week 3 was a little calmer, until we got our car! We’re all so excited, and made a plan to walk the trail once a week together. It’s still slightly cold out at 7:30, but a beautiful way to start the day and stay active anyways.

Week 4 came with a sad decision, and as of right now, Zach and I have both decided he will stop the program, as he isn’t interested anymore, and I have found it more hard than helpful to do this with him.
I hope that he might find his motivation and will power again, and maybe warm weather might reinspire him, but due to many different reasons, we both feel that for right now, he isn’t ready to be in the program.
My house/hamsters weigh in every 2 weeks all at the same time on a Sunday.
Here’s our progress.
Nicole (Hamster #2)
1: 168.3, a 2 pound loss from February’s last weigh in.
2: 173.0, Almost a 5 pound gain in 2 weeks.
Zach (Hamster #1)
1: 251.2 Almost a 10 pound gain from February’s last weigh in.
2: 256.8 Almost a 5 pound gain in 2 weeks.
Kristopher (Hamster #3)
1: 278.8 No change from February to March.
2: 276.4 A 2 pound loss in 2 weeks.
Shaunna (Thats me)
1: 239.8 No change from February.
2: 237.6 A 2 pound loss in 2 weeks.
In the past, only losing 2 pounds would have crushed me..but I’m not upset for 2 reasons.
- I see the difference in my body and clothing.
- I’ve had a few social drinking adventures lately, and liquor is packed full of calories, so I’m really just glad I didn’t gain.
Wish us luck, and share your own stories, how are you trying to get healthy?
