Do you ever really consider what you drink everyday? With the availability and advertisements of soft drinks everywhere, and coffee drinkers seeming to make up a whole culture on their own, it seems no one truly does anymore. In Fact when someone says they dont drink pop or coffee, it almost feels like they’re somehow strange or too health conscious.
A year ago, I was in the same boat, I would drink a whole pot of coffee everyday, and in each cup of coffee I used mass amounts of sugar and creamer. Throughout the evening I drank pop and juice, never thinking twice about how it affected my health or weight. In a week’s time I may have had 1 glass of water, I also never seemed to be able to get any energy no matter how much caffeine I consumed in a day.
A year ago I started to make changes, I cut my coffee back and stopped drinking it as soon as it was lunch time, and I started drinking water until dinner, if I finished 2 bottles I could have a pop. Eventually I moved the number of bottles up to 3, and it became easy, a healthy habit I didn’t need to think about to accomplish.
3 months ago however, I made the decision to stop drinking pop all together, and I have seen so many benefits since. My skin is clearer, I don’t have as much gas (burps) and I just generally feel better.
Lately I’ve noticed that I’ve been drinking less coffee without even trying..Due to how busy I usually stay now, my one cup of coffee gets reheated multiple times before I finish it, and By lunch time I’m now lucky to get down a full 2 cups. So I wonder..could I be one of those weirdos who just wakes up and gets through the day without gallons of coffee to keep me going?
I want to see, I also want to see what effect it has on my health and weight, considering all the sugar and creamer I use. So starting this week, I’ll be using the same method I used to quit drinking pop, which means.
Sunday No coffee this week, then saturday and sunday next week, and the week after I’ll be coffee free friday, saturday, and sunday, working my way back to monday, my cheat day.
This worked so well for me with pop, I’m hopeful for things to go as well with coffee.
What’s a not so healthy habit you would like to change?
Any suggestions for a better alternative to coffee?
Wish me luck!
